Mobile Physiotherapy and Home Visits: Booking, Travel, Notes and Invoicing

Home and mobile visits are a big part of physiotherapy: aged care, post-operative rehab, NDIS participants, falls prevention. The work is valuable, but it is hard to run from a car. This guide explains how Clinidiary handles home visits from booking to invoice.

A home visit service

Create a home visit service with its own length and price, separate from clinic consults. It has its own icon in the diary, so a home visit is easy to spot, and it shows clearly on invoices and in reports.

Travel time in the diary

Book the visit in the practitioner's column of the diary, and block the drive on either side with a Travel band. Nobody can be booked into it, and online booking will not offer it. Keep the patient's address and a family member's number on their file.

Notes from the patient's home

The whole of Clinidiary works on a phone or tablet. Notes save as you type, and if the signal drops in a country town, the note keeps a copy on the device and saves it when you are back in range. See treatment notes.

Invoicing the right payer

Raise the invoice from the appointment on your phone. For a private patient, take the payment; for an NDIS, DVA or WorkCover patient, the funding on the case means the invoice goes to the right payer and into the claims queue until it is paid. See invoicing and claims.

When video is enough

Not every review needs the drive. A telehealth check-in between visits saves an hour on the road.

Frequently asked questions

Can I block travel time between home visits?

Can I write notes on my phone during a home visit?

Yes. Notes save as you type and keep a copy on the device if the signal drops.

Can home visits be invoiced to NDIS or DVA?
