Telehealth Physiotherapy: Video Appointments in the Browser

Telehealth suits plenty of physio work: a review for a rural patient two hours away, a progression check for someone who has moved interstate, a post-op check-in between home visits. Juggling a separate video app and a separate invoice is the messy part. This guide explains how video appointments work inside Clinidiary.

When telehealth works for physios

  • Reviews and exercise progressions.
  • Correcting technique on camera.
  • Rural and interstate patients.
  • Post-operative check-ins.
  • Education: load management, ergonomics, pain science.

How it works

  1. Book a video appointment in the diary.
  2. Start the call from the appointment in your browser.
  3. The patient joins from their link on a phone or computer. There is nothing to install.
  4. Share your screen to show an exercise or a scan, and use the chat for a quick note.
  5. Write the note and raise the invoice from the same appointment.

If the patient's camera or microphone is blocked, they still join: you can see or hear what is available, and the chat always works.

Private by design

The call goes directly between your browser and the patient's, and the chat is not stored. The record of the consultation is your note, on the patient's file like any other visit. See treatment notes.

Billing a telehealth appointment

A video appointment is a service with its own price, invoiced from the appointment. See invoicing and claims.

Mixing video, clinic and home visits

Clinic sessions for hands-on treatment, home visits in the first weeks after surgery, and video check-ins in between, all in one diary and one file.
