A sample week
Monday to Thursday
- 8:00 to 8:30: prepare, check the day, reply to messages.
- 8:30 to 12:30: patients.
- 12:30 to 1:15: lunch, really.
- 1:15 to 5:30: patients, with one buffer slot mid-afternoon.
- 5:30 to 6:00: finish anything left, set up tomorrow.
Friday
- Morning: patients.
- Afternoon: admin block (invoices, claims, letters), then an hour for growth: content, referrers, learning.
Adjust the hours to your life; the shape is what matters.
Put it in the diary
Set your working hours and breaks in your diary so online booking only offers patient times. Mark admin and lunch as kept free so nothing gets booked over them.
Group similar work
- New patients in the morning when you are fresh.
- Home visits on set days or set areas. See hybrid practices.
- Telehealth reviews in one block.
Admin has its own time
A daily half hour and a weekly block stop admin spilling into evenings. See doing your own admin.
Leave room
A buffer slot each day absorbs overruns and urgent bookings. If it is free, it becomes catch-up time.

Yes. Blocking it like an appointment stops it being taken by patients.
When should new patients be booked?
Many physios prefer mornings, when they are freshest, but choose what suits your energy.
